Merry Christmas U.S. Senate

The U.S. Senate has given the country the best possible Christmas present – a bipartisan 56-41 vote to withdraw the U.S. from the calamitous war in Yemen that has led to some 60 thousand deaths and looming starvation and fatal disease for thousands more. Beware the Nukes

In the Cold War, U.S. Presidents were not soft on communism, to put it mildly. At the same time, they were well aware – intensely aware – of the danger of nuclear weapons to the planet and did their best to control them. Not so today.
